Stronger Together.

Small Steps. Big Impact.
Our Story
Hello, we are Community Volunteer Connections, a provincially recognized charity that has been in operation since 1976. We are conducting a fundraising campaign to ensure our volunteer center can continue to mobilize volunteers and assist the nonprofits that depend on volunteers to provide vital services.
For 48 years, Community Volunteer Connections has been the go to resource centre for the Tri-Cities. And while we may have gone through many changes since 1976, our passion to provide support and reinforcements to volunteers and nonprofits that manage volunteers, remains strong and steadfast.
How volunteering serves people
A sampling from the many responses we received to the question – “I volunteer because…”

When the pandemic hit, our organization encountered unexpected obstacles. COVID restrictions impeded our growth and community events. Nevertheless, even with a significant drop in revenue, the departure of three staff members, and losing our office space to connect and convene, our spirit remained strong.
Our Appeal
We need your support to navigate the ongoing economic challenges. Program and administrative expenses have surged significantly. Moreover, the demand for a central hub to mobilize volunteers and offer assistance to nonprofits to manage volunteers has never been greater.
We’re a passion-driven organization of caring people, working behind the scenes, navigating an ecosystem of reduced funding and high demand.
We need your help to continue to support volunteers and volunteer professionals with the advice, referrals, information, and opportunities they need.
How You can Help
❤ We’re not prepared to abandon our community just yet. Join us in raising $10,000 to establish support systems that will enable us to mobilize volunteers and assist nonprofits with their volunteer management needs.
By backing our organization, you can assist us in expanding our staff outreach and delivering essential support within an industry that is experiencing significant turnover and struggling to adapt to changing volunteer trends.
📈 The turnover rate for nonprofits is approximately 27%, significantly higher than the all-industry average of about 12%. Volunteer engagement staff, such as coordinators, managers, and administrators face even greater turnover due to being overworked, and undervalued.
We aim to provide the training and capacity-building resources essential for nonprofits and charities to recruit volunteers, as well as support individuals with the enforcements they to volunteer.

Your donation will support CVC’s development of training materials and staff hours, which includes sharing vital information for the recruitment, training, recognition, and management of volunteers.
Your backing also facilitates outreach efforts that enables us to visit high schools to discuss local volunteer opportunities and illustrate how volunteering can positively impact their future goals, empower nonprofits, and provide essential services in their community.
Additionally, your support strengthens smaller nonprofits by providing them with resources to highlight their volunteer opportunities at our annual volunteer fair and on our volunteer recruitment platform.
Our Impact
The following communication demonstrates just one person from the hundreds that reach out to us for support.
I am a high school student. I am finding it a bit hard and overwhelming to find volunteer opportunities that are right for me. I was wondering if you guys can help me find volunteer opportunities.
Your contribution generates a ripple effect. When you support our organization, you also uplift the numerous nonprofits and volunteers in the Tri-Cities and neighbouring region.
