Opportunity for Community Leaders

The Fraser North Community Volunteer Connections Society (Community Volunteer Connections) is currently accepting applications to fill two (2) volunteer Board Director positions. We are looking to elect forward thinking individuals who can commit to the mission of the Society and enhance the Society’s governance leadership.

Board Director Requirements and Qualifications

The time commitment for a Board Director’s role includes preparation for and appearance at monthly board meetings, strategic planning sessions, the Annual General Meeting, and participation on at least one Board Committee. Board members are also expected to attend select CVC events.

Board Directors:

  • Establish and monitor the vision, mission, strategic direction, and core values of the society.
  • Approve and uphold financial responsibilities, and the annual budget of the society.
  • Monitor financial control systems to maintain the financial and legal responsibilities of the society.
  • Govern and maintain Board Committees, setting terms of reference with clear responsibilities.
  • Evaluate the performance of the Executive Director in accomplishing society goals within developed Board policies.

Skills and expertise in the areas of finance, law, human resources, risk management, or fund development is an asset. Board experience is preferred.
