Annual Salvation Army Red Kettle fundraising campaign

Volunteer Duties
Man kettle stands at various locations in Surrey area (Newton, Guildford, Surrey Central, Fleetwood, Nordel, Scott Road & Clayton/Cloverdale) to raise funds for local programs and services to those in need. Greet customers with a smile and thank donors for their generous contribution.

Two hour shifts for individuals Monday to Saturday from 1 pm – 3pm or 5 pm – 7 pm at Superstore locations in Guildford, Newton, Scott Road as well as Save on Foods in Clayton and Cloverdale

Four hour shifts for groups of two or three between 9 am – 7 pm or 10 am – 6 pm at any location

ONE OF OUR MEMBERS IS HAVING  AN EVENT  IN BURNABY AND WE ARE HELPING THEM TO FIND VOLUNTEERS.

Variety of 4-­5 hour shifts available from November 30 – December 24 2019 Monday to Sunday.

Volunteer Duties
Are you looking for festive volunteering to spread some holiday cheer?

Join our team of holiday gift wrappers!

We are looking for gift wrappers and supervisors from November 30 – December 24 at Metrotown Mall  to wrap presents and help us raise funds to end MS!

Gift Wrappers responsibilities:

  • To wrap presents for donations at a booth at Metropolis at Metrotown
  • Show up to your shift on time
  • Provide professional and efficient customer service
  • Wrap gifts and accept donations according to pre-­determined donation guidelines

Shift Supervisors responsibilities:

  • To provide leadership and supervision to volunteer gift wrappers.
  • Provide professional and efficient customer service
  • Work with and lead a team of Gift Wrap Volunteers on your shift
  • Communicate with Gift Wrap Coordinator before and after your shift
  • Carry out opening and/or closing duties as set out by the Gift Wrap Coordinator, which include: cash handling, filling out bank deposits, signing Gift Wrap Volunteers in/out, organizing the daily supply stocking of the booth

Training and Orientation:

• There will be a Group Orientation. It is highly encouraged for volunteers to attend, but not mandatory.

Time Commitment:

• A variety of 4-­5 hour shifts are available from November 30 – December 24.

• Shift supervisor should be able to commit to at least one shift per week for the duration of Holiday Gift Wrap.

Supervisory Relationships/liaison:

• You are supervised by and liaise with the Fundraising Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinators.

Authority/Decision Making:

• Must be comfortable making decisions and problem solving with minimal supervision.
