Our aim is to amplify the visibility and voice of our sector.

If your organization works with volunteers or is hoping to recruit some, you’re in the right place. We offer two ways to be involved: Membership and Subscriber Services. They serve different purposes and can be held separately or together. Membership is about community, voice, and shared purpose. Subscriber Services are about tools and visibility.

Full Subscriber Services

Tools and visibility for organizations with capacity.

What full subscriber services are: Full Subscriber Services give organizations access to shared tools that support volunteer recruitment and volunteer program visibility. Subscriber status is about service use only and does not include voting or governance rights.

Price: $96 (annual fee)

What full subscribers receive

Unlimited access to post volunteer opportunities on the cvc.BCvolunteer digital platform.
Heightened visibility of volunteer opportunities through Facebook, Instagram, and our Volunteer Newsletter.
Priority registration for a free table at the Volunteer Fair.
One free, one-hour consultation related to volunteer stewardship.
Updates on sector trends and news, in the Quarterly newsletter.

Subscriber services add visibility, coordination, and system‑level support to organizations.

Subsidized Subscriber Services

Equitable access for small and volunteer‑led organizations. Subsidized Subscriber Services provide the same core tools as full subscribers at a reduced rate, and is intended to lower barriers to recruit volunteers for smaller, volunteer‑led organizations.

Price: $45 per year.

What subsidized subscribers receive

Subsidized subscribers receive the same core services as full subscribers. To remain sustainable, we limit the number of subscriber accounts offered at the subsidized rate each year. This does not affect the services provided to individual subsidized subscribers.

An organization may qualify if it:

Is based in the Tri‑Cities.
Primarily relies on volunteers to deliver programs.
Would face a meaningful barrier paying the full subscriber rate.
Generally, has revenues around or below $200,000, with judgment applied.

Organizations with higher revenues may still be eligible for the subsidized rate if they are fully volunteer run and lack paid administrative capacity. If in doubt whether you qualify, please reach out to fkondylis@volunteerconnections.ca with any questions you may have.

Stand‑alone services

Volunteer Fair table registration purchased separately is $79 per event.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a subscription to post volunteer opportunities?

Yes. Our platform is subscription-based. Once you’re a subscriber, you can post as many volunteer opportunities as you like until your subscription expires. Think of it as an all-access pass to reach eager volunteers.

Who can subscribe?

We welcome nonprofit and volunteer-driven organizations, such as charities, volunteer-led groups, schools, neighbourhood associations, sports clubs, public agencies, hospitals, places of worship, and more. If your organization’s mission focuses on supporting the community, you’re likely eligible!

Who isn’t eligible?

For-profit businesses, political campaigns, personal projects, or organizations outside Canada without a local chapter. Also, organizations using volunteer work to develop a for-profit model or facing labour disputes can’t subscribe.

What kinds of roles can I post?

Only volunteer opportunities! We don’t allow fundraising appeals, paid positions, internships, or roles replacing paid staff. Volunteers shouldn’t be delivering fee-for-service programs unless there’s a special exemption.

Can my volunteer role be remote?

Absolutely! Virtual opportunities are welcome. In-person roles should be within reasonable commuting distance in the Metro Vancouver area.

Do I need to follow any laws or rules when posting?

Yes. All postings must follow the British Columbia Human Rights Code. You should also clearly explain any genuine requirements related to protected grounds, and volunteers shouldn’t be required to pay fees or donations unless there’s a clear reason.

How do accounts work on the posting platform?

Each organization gets one account, managed by a primary contact and usually the person who will post most opportunities and handle subscription renewals. Keep your login secure. Accounts inactive for 4+ years will be deleted, though you can reapply anytime.

How do subscriptions work?

Subscriptions last for a full year. We send reminders 14 days and 1 day before your subscription expires, and a follow-up reminder 7 days after if you haven’t renewed. Renewal includes updating your organization’s profile, completing a sector survey, and agreeing to our policies. Payment can be made by credit card or cheque.

What are the benefits of subscribing?

People volunteer close to home, that’s why we focus on the Tri-Cities area, and neighbouring communities. We keep the subscription fee low to reduce barriers for nonprofits. Subscribers also get unlimited volunteer postings, and boosted visibility in our newsletter and social media.

What happens if my organization doesn’t follow the rules?

We reserve the right to reject applications or suspend accounts if postings or communications don’t align with our policies. Staying compliant keeps our community safe, welcoming, and effective for everyone.
