How we help you directly
Working directly in the non-profit sector, our volunteer guidance staff have taught hundreds of people over the years about volunteering. Use the opportunity to ask questions, receive search guidance, and explore volunteer opportunities that are right for you.

What is the difference between a meeting and a public information session?
Public volunteer information sessions are focused on providing information to a group, while scheduled meetings focus on one-on-one guidance. Both provide insight into volunteer navigation on our posting platform and cover the different stages a volunteer might go through when applying for a role.
What should I expect in a call/video chat?
Individuals can expect guidance on where to search, and what to expect when applying for roles.
Should I prepare anything?
Reflect on your unique situation as an individual, such as your interests, your access to transportation to get to and from volunteer roles, your time availability, and what skills or knowledge you want to tap into as a volunteer.
Where are the meetings held?
Online, virtually through Microsoft Teams. We’ll send you a link to join.
Are one-on-one meetings only held online?
Yes they are only held online virtually. We sadly aren’t able to do in-person meetings.
Who is this volunteer guidance for?
Anyone that would like to volunteer! That can be just yourself, you and your friend, families, groups at your work, and more.
Can my friend attend the meeting as well?
Yes, your friend can attend the online one-on-one meetings with you. However, meetings are about 20 minutes maximum, however many people there are.
For bigger groups who all have questions, we also encourage you to attend a free public volunteer information session.
